LEARNING OBJECTIVES 

At the end of this course, the participants will be able to:

  1. Determine clinical indications for OCT imaging.
  2. Operate the OCT software to obtain, review and analyze images.
  3. Interpret OCT images in a variety of clinical contexts including acute coronary syndromes, pre and post stent deployment and optimization, stent thrombosis and stent restenosis.
  4. Integrate OCT image information in clinical management plans for coronary intervention.


 

CASE BASED INSTRUCTION 

A substantial focus of the course is on hands-on image evaluation by the attendees using OCT image review software.

Participants will perform mentored interpretation of OCT cases in the categories of (a) characterization of culprit lesion morphology, (b) stent thrombosis and restenosis, and (c) percutaneous coronary intervention planning and optimization.
