Target Audience

Family Physicians, Pain Physicians, Physician Assistant’s,  Psychologists, Chiropractors, Social Workers, Dieticians, Nurses, Occupational Therapists and Resident/Students.

Learning Objectives

At the end of the learning activity the learners will be able to

  • Identify and effectively utilize a variety of non-pharmacological therapies to improve pain and/or function
  • Be aware of and incorporate common psychotherapeutic management, both non-pharmacologic and pharmacologic, in pain patients with mental health needs.
  • Discuss safer management options for ‘legacy’ opioid users.

McMaster University, Continuing Professional Development Office (CPD) is fully accredited by the Committee on Accreditation of Continuing Medical Education (CACME) to provide CFPC Mainpro+ and RCPSC Maintenance of Certification (MOC) study credits for Continuing Medical Education.
